i found your lips on the ground
i put them to my cheek
cradled them lovingly

they spoke to me promises
in feather-light caresses
imploring

i give them back to
the crisp green grass
with tears

i don't pretend
to want just part of you

peeled by clouds
in my fall from hope

Asphalt absorbed
in landing
seeps in
turning me to stone

Hardened heart
stills
with murmured cry
echoing to silence

do you see what I see?

you are the blue in my eyes
my lips, a mirror
trace the contours of my face
and read you in me
notice the shape of my hands as yours
time-spent
look upon my cheeks

your heart is my heart
kindness was your gift
a beauty given without credit
--you can no longer deny
that your nature bleeds in me

your laughter is my fortune
that i share with you
while always wanting more
and i willingly take

do you see what I see?
do you see you in me?

you are my true love

but interrogatives were never introducedif i were to say what i want how i want when i want
i would talk of you you and me you and she you and they
i could speak to the trees mountains clouds sun and see

i would declare:

shaded life peaks soft white density with a glow from my eyes
love tingles even with a ghost and family in the mix
where doesn't matter why scares me who is i

and yet my heart beats a staccato
upon seeing his face every morning

i hang upon his every word
when he talks
zeros and ones

i taste your desire in meyour breath on my cheek
shivers to my lips
races with mine
sharing moist heat
i taste your desire in me

loyal friends spirited

desire vibrates
exponentially

acrid taste disintegrating hope
the flavor tasted over and over again
like the heartbeat in the dry, cracked skin at the end of my fingertips
a pain that cannot be hidden
a constant reminder of being too open

soft opening
put your finger in
feel the moisture
the heated
staccato beat
of fluid expression

before

cold wasteland
fingers not welcomed
denied the dryness
the arid
withered thump
of comatic depression

then

fucking poem
fingers hands lips teeth tongue
fought for air
the decadent
pounding clack
of worded manifestation

you poet burned my fortress
ignited my voice
branded me one of you

i am opened

as they waltz across
her
tear-stained, blood-drained
unlocked face

It's about feeling something for someone and then things don't go like the one expects it to...negativity (salted words), silence, vulnerability due to lack of warmth or feeling secure in the relationship (blanket with holes)...

So, not a scary story...but a scary story.
