lights dance
playfully, strikingly
agile
as they waltz across
her
tear-stained, blood-drained
unlocked face

disillusionment

a bitter pill lodged in my throat
acrid taste disintegrating hope
the flavor tasted over and over again
like the heartbeat in the dry, cracked skin at the end of my fingertips
a pain that cannot be hidden
a constant reminder of being too open
winter's gift

This fantastic..it reminds me of Tim Burton's work and a graphic novel by Neil Gaiman and Dave McClean called "Mr Punch". It has the same dark, surreal Victorian feel. Love the composition and the colour scheme...it Ll adds to the atmosphere!
